Mobile apps

Thoshika has four mobile apps for Android and iOS, built from one codebase. They use the same sign-in, roles and data as the web.

Most people need only the Thoshika app.

  1. Install the app and open it.
  2. Enter your work email. Thoshika shows the ways you can sign in: password, passkey or your company's single sign-on.
  3. After the first sign-in, turn on biometric unlock. The session is kept in the phone's secure storage and opened with your fingerprint or face.
  4. To use a passkey, add one when the app offers it. It works with the same account as the web.

Companies, apps and accounts

  • Tap your avatar to open the account, company and app picker.
  • Switch company to move between companies you belong to.
  • Switch app to move between the apps your roles open.
  • Add another account to keep up to five accounts signed in, each with its own biometric unlock. Sign out of this account signs out only that account.

Notifications carry the account and company they are for. Tapping one switches to the right company and opens the page.

What employees can do

Depending on the apps your company uses, employees can check in and out, apply for leave, see balances and holidays, download payslips and Form 16, submit expense claims, and approve requests from their inbox. Managers see their team and approve from the same inbox.

Shared devices

POS Register and Warehouse can run on shared tablets and handhelds.

  1. Enrol the device. On the web, a manager opens POS and Retail, Stores and registers, Shared registers, or Inventory and Warehouse, Settings, Handhelds, and adds the device. Scan the QR code, or type the code, in the app. The code works once and expires after 30 minutes.
  2. Set a PIN. Each person taps First time here?, signs in fully once, and chooses a 4 to 6 digit PIN. They can also link a badge.
  3. Switch person. Staff tap their name and enter their PIN, or scan their badge. They get a short session limited to their roles at that store or warehouse.
  4. Auto-lock. The device locks after two minutes without a touch (you can change this per device) and when the app goes to the background.

After five wrong PINs, that person's PIN sign-in is locked for 15 minutes on every device. Who used it on the web lists every staff session. Removing a device ends its sessions at once.

Kiosk mode for POS Register

  • Android: a store manager turns on Settings, This device, Kiosk mode.
  • iOS: use Guided Access (Settings, Accessibility, Guided Access), or Single App Mode from your device management system.

Scanners for Warehouse

Zebra devices are set up automatically through DataWedge. Other scanners that broadcast a data intent work when set to broadcast com.thoshika.SCAN. USB and Bluetooth keyboard-wedge scanners type into the focused scan field. The camera is always available as a scanner.

Calls and notifications

Sangam calls ring like phone calls on Android and iPhone. Notifications for approvals, payslips and other events arrive as push notifications.
